The Nazi Party Rally Grounds in Nuremberg, 03.10.2014

I‘m actually a bit disappointed. The grounds are always made out to be enormous. Well, they are enormous, but I was expecting them to be even bigger.

The central area, which looks more like a run down business park, is missing an element to give the space a sense of its size.

The information centre sticks its tongue out; visitors can assess the grounds from a skywalk above.

Nurembergers have been wondering what to do with the land and its buildings since the war‘s end. The Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra is based there. I quite like that.

Taking pictures of "Die Betende" and "Der Gebeugte" outside is not easy. They‘re so small and everything here is massive.

The brick and concrete information centre looks perfect for exhibits. Lots of big pictures are shown to great advantage in the large spaces.

The skywalk itself is not my cup of tea. I prefer ground contact.
